What is MySidewalk?

MySidewalk is an app that allows you to report the where sidewalks exist in your city and damage that needs to be fixed to them, and earn rewards while doing so! The more you walk, the more you earn.

What benefits to I get from using MySidewalk?

Benefit your city and other residents by reporting issues that need to be addressed! You will earn points that can be redeemed for T-shirts, gift cards, and other things that you can use in your office or in your city.

What kinds of information can I submit to my City?

MySidewalk lets you report the existence of sidewalks, as well as attributes of the sidewalk and damage to certain areas. You can submit both descriptions and photos of damage.

Sidewalks

How do I view existing sidewalks?

From the main menu, choose “View Sidewalks”. This will show a map of currently registered sidewalks. Register a new sidewalk?
  1. From the main menu, choose “Track my Walk”
  2. Choose "Track missing sidewalk"
  3. Start walking!

How do I add information about an existing sidewalk?

Currently, this is not a feature of this app.

Tracking

What is the purpose of tracking walk data?

Tracking walks helps you earn points. If you track existing sidewalks, this also helps your City track where all of its sidewalks are so it can provide you better service, which benefits everyone.

Will I lose my points if I delete walk data?

No, points will remain credited to you.

How do I track my walk?

  1. From the main menu, choose "Track my walk"
  2. Choose either "Start Tracking" to just walk, or "Track Missing Sidewalk"
  3. Tap "Stop Tracking" to stop tracking

Turn auto-sync on or off?

Auto sync automatically uploads walk data once it is created. You can choose to wait to upload this later if you want.
  1. From the main menu, choose Settings.
  2. Click on Auto-Sync to turn on or off.

View details of an existing walk?

  1. From the main menu, chose "My Walk Data."
  2. Swipe left on a row to see 3 options
  3. Choose "View"

Upload saved walks

Note: This only applies if auto-sync is turned off.
  1. From the main menu, chose "My Walk Data."
  2. Swipe left on a row to see 3 options
  3. Choose "Upload"

Delete walks?

  1. From the main menu, chose "My Walk Data."
  2. Swipe left on a row to see 3 options

Reporting

How do I report damage?

To add pictures of damage, you can either report from the Tracking screen or the Main Menu. You can add photos of damage as well as descriptions of the issue.
  1. From the Main Menu, choose “Report an Issue.”
  2. If you are currently tracking your walk, tap “Report an issue” at the top right-hand corner.

View a map of existing reports?

From the main menu, choose “View Issues”.

View a list of existing reports?

From the main menu, choose “View Issues”. Then choose “List” at the top right-hand corner.

View details of a report?

Tap the description of an existing report and the Details pane will pop up.

Comment on existing damage reports?

To comment on existing damage reports, you must “Repost” the report with a comment.
  1. View existing reports from the “View Issues” option in the main menu.
  2. Choose the report from either the Map or the List view
  3. When details pop up, tap “Repost”
  4. Add your comment and repost

Share issue reports with friends?

  1. View existing reports from the “View Issues” option in the main menu.
  2. Choose the report from either the Map or the List view.
  3. When details pop up, tap “Share”.
  4. Choose how you want to share this post.

Points

Earn points?

You earn points by tracking your path while walking. The more you walk in your city, the more points you earn.

Redeem points?

  1. From the main menu, choose “Points”.
  2. Click on the picture of the city you want to redeem points in. This will show a menu of rewards.
  3. Choose the reward you want to get. This will generate a QR-code coupon for you
  4. Take the coupon to the front desk at your local city and redeem your rewards!
